St. Louis travels to Boston today to face the Bruins in an afternoon tilt....or for you lucky West Coasters who have Center Ice, you can eat some breakfast and watch some hockey....gotta love it!!
Boston nearly pulled out a 4-0 deficit Thursday night at home against Pittsburgh but lost 5-4 in a shootout. Considering the way they played on this homestand, that comeback may have saved their season for now. Tim Thomas came back and played and really didn't play well but started to play better from about the second period on. Boston will need a sixty minute effort today to beat their opponent...the St. Louis Blues.
The St. Louis Blues are 17-12-2 which may be 9th in the West but they have games in hand on everyone much like Boston did at this point last year. With names like Tkachuk, Kariya, Boyes, and now McDonald...the Blues looked poised to make some noise in the West. If their goaltending can stay healthy....Manny Legace's knee is somewhat of an issue, the Blues could win this one easily today. They are the type of team Boston normally has trouble with and their Penalty Kill is #1 in the NHL. This has the makings of being a good afternoon game.
Well the anthem has been sung (badly I may add) and the puck has been dropped....so enjoy the game everyone!
