The turkeys have returned......but this is not what you expect...these are turkeys based on players still in the playoffs. This is because well...the players already eliminated have suffered enough shame to last an offseason. And now, here are the three possible turkeys in the second round that you may want to stay away from in your hockey pools.

Martin Biron (G) -- Philadelphia Flyers

This was a tough one but I can see a scenario where Montreal (especially in the first two games) just goes nuts in the scoring department. It may not happen at all but there is a possibility. Biron is the type of goalie that can give up goals in bunches and that does feed into Montreal's hands. Montreal is not too far removed from its solid Game 7 effort against Boston...that could serve them well this week...and not Biron.

The Osgood/Hasek duo -- Detroit Red Wings

This just reeks of strange brew! Mike Babcock didn't like some of the goals Hasek gave up. That drives a player nuts! Chris Osgood has given up some of the weirdest postseason goals you could ever see. So though ultimately I think Detroit will win this series...it will be their defense and offense that get the job done moreso than outstanding goaltending.

Patrick Marleau (C) -- San Jose Sharks

This may just seem random but for some reason I see the 2nd round San Jose blues hitting him hard...and not Thornton. Marleau has very good speed but Dallas can stop speed. Look at what they did to Anaheim...so be wary Mr. Marleau...Dallas specializes in stopping this type of player...it could be a long series for you.

And now today's predictions......

Montreal over Philly 5-3

Detroit over Colorado 4-3

Have a great day of hockey everyone!!!!!
