There will be updates by period and sometimes a little sooner but one thing is for sure Jagr has not checked Sidney Crosby yet.

Penguins vs. Rangers

1-0 Pens...Hossa from Crosby and Dupuis at 1:02

Tied at 1.....Straka from Jagr and Mara at 14:32

2-1 Pens...do you smell what Laraque is cooking? from Malkin and Sykora at 16:17

Now 3-1...Evgeni Malkin from Gonchar and Hossa at 17:41 (PPG)

The period is over...Pens still on Power Play for :49

Ryan Callahan of all people score at 12:07 then Jaromir Jagr scores just 64 seconds later and its tied from Gomez and Straka at 13:11.

Malkin gets a power play tally at 17:53 and that gives the Pens a 4-3 lead....an assist to that Crosby guy and Gonchar.

4-3 Pens after 2.

Kris Letang sets up Ryan Malone who doesn't miss and its 5-3 Pens....does this look kind of like the Habs-Flyers game from last night? Yes and no but one thing is for sure...the Rangers are in deep trouble and Marc-Andre Fleury is keeping the Pens afloat.

Rangers have nearly 40 shots on goal....but it just seems Fleury is up to the task.

90 seconds to go and the Rangers still stuck on 39 shots. And now it is a final...5-3.

39 shots...36 saves for Fleury and he should get first star honestly.

Can anyone believe the Rangers are one loss away from getting swept? I certainly can't...onward to the Sharks-Stars game.....

Sharks @ Stars ....1-0 after 1 as Patrick Marleau breaks in shorthanded and scores with :35 left in the 1st.

No scoring in the 2nd and still 1-0 after 2.

TIE GAME! Sergei Zubov slams one home on the power play thanks to help from Mike Ribiero and Brad Richards at 0:47. Does San Jose hear footsteps??

Midway into the third and still tied....could this go into OT?

Sure enough, this game is neck and neck and will definitely hit overtime... Will the Stars jump ahead 3-0 in the series, or will Big Joe get his team back into breathing room??

A bone crushing (or in this case, head crushing) hit to Stu Barnes leaves the forward sprawled on the ice looking for Wednesday's newspaper. Marleau absolutely teed off on him.

AND THAT'S THE GAME! A fantastic wrist shot from the point through traffic, along with a great tip sends the puck past Nabokov and we have ourselves a 3-0 series lead in favor of Dallas.

Wings @ Avs

An early lead is cracked by Colorado thanks to a goal by McLeod. Talk about a big goal for this game.

And just as Colorado fans get back into their seats, the game goes the other way, with goals by Datsyuk and Franzen. Could Franzen be the most recent version of a walking talking Conn Smyth trophy?? We'll see soon enough.

End of the first period. Shots heavily favor Detroit at 19-10, and it may have something to do with the three penalties Colorado took during that frame.

And the second period begins! Datsyuk strikes for the second time of the evening to make it 3-1 in favor of Detroit. This is not looking good for Colorado.

A solid response by Colorado brings the score back to a one goal game thanks to Brunette on the powerplay.

Zetterberg returned the favor though, and has put his team back up by two.

Brunette got the Avs within one with another PPG but the Avs despite outshooting the Avs 13-7...could not muster that final offensive push to send the game into Overtime. Colorado needs to have better starts. I don't think the Avalanche have had a lead after the first period in this series. Game 4 may be the last stand for the Avs old guard. Colorado is shorthanded and that just makes it harder on them to mount a charge. But Detroit has been impressive and workmanlike.

So overall I went 2-1 tonight to up the record to 8-4. With a double tomorrow......here goes nothing.

Montreal over Philly 3-2 (OT)

Dallas over San Jose 3-2 (OT)

Thank you and good night from the Hotel California and a special thanks to Danada for helping out in the middle session so to speak.
