If tonight is any indication of how Round 2 is going to go...then there are going to be some awesome series.
Again I want to thank the NHL Radio Network on satellite for the play by play and postgame.
Game of the night: No question was the Montreal-Philly tilt. Alexei Kovalev scored the second of his two goals on the Power Play with :29 left in regulation then Tom Kostopoulos sent the Bell Centre crowd home happy just 48 seconds into OT with a shot that managed to beat Martin Biron and the Habs took a 1-0 lead in the best of 7 with a 4-3 win. This was a hell of a game and if the others are like this....it has the makings of being a classic. A four star game.
Predictable Or Was It?: I said the Wings-Avs game would be kind of helter skelter...and well it was absolutely dead on. The Wings built a 4-1 lead before Colorado stormed back and nearly tied it. In the end it was a 4-3 Detroit win that left people wondering will there be any good goaltending in this series? Detroit had the shots advantage and mostly controlled the game but Colorado had their chances and if Forsberg does play in Game 2...there may be a different outcome honestly. Both teams were kind of shaky and that will make it an intriguing series alone.
So yeah....night one is in the books....and the collective forces that be went 2-0.
Friday night features two more games and this is what we have.
Pittsburgh over NY Rangers 3-2
Dallas over San Jose 3-2
And there you go....here comes more hockey....take it in...take it all in!!!
