I am the first one to admit that when a long weekend is upon you, writing becomes the most difficult process in the world. Why? Well the temptation is so great and the willpower is just about nonexistant. What can you find on a Friday afternoon when things seem at their worst? Naturally, a hockey blog of course. Today is no exception. We are going to take a quick look at Pension Plan Puppets (PPP for short).
Nice shiny picture, isn't it? This describes just how these bloggers work. They work hard but play hard as well. Where else can you get Leafs Trivia right before Labor Day weekend? The nice part is they freely link to other sites when news is either slow or well it is the Leafs (everything is slow with the guy we shall not name). Despite all that, PPP covers the Leafs in a way that not many can come close to duplicating.
It also is an immense help that their site design is top notch. SBNation is one of the best when it comes to simple, user friendly design. That makeover has helped PPP reach even more of an audience than it did before. I am not privy to their numbers but I am sure the fans have noticed. I surely have! Combine the fanposts and fanshots and that creates a site that gets the bloggers in touch with the people and vice versa.
Keep in mind, these are not your normal Leafs fans. They tell it like it is, even if you don't even want to think about hearing it. There is a healthy respect amongst most bloggers and I definitely thank blogs like Pension Plan Puppets for keeping their style intact.
