Congratulations to this month's winner JoeyHurricane...who I am sure will be getting his Golden Horn soon enough. Here is the man's facetime.
Ok...here goes...the floor to Joey.....
After the Stanley Cup Finals, I felt as though I learned something. My lesson wasnt that the Penguins werent yet good enough, or how the coaching staff may have outcoached themselves Bill Cowher style or anything like that that involved the Pens.
Actually, What I learned was that every NHL team needs to play each other every season. Watching the Red Wings play those 6 games in the Finals gave me a substantial level of respect for the organization from top to bottom. I cant help but feel that, no matter the fan of hockey I am, this was lost on me before the team I follow made the Finals against them.
Regardless of fan afilliation, every one of us as fans deserve to watch the best possible matchups that the league has to offer. In fact, purposely schedule some interconference marquee matchups on Sunday afternoons, you just might see a palpable increase in ratings. Think about it, wouldnt you tune in next January 4th to see the Pens and Red Wings do it all over again for two points...or three? I know I would and if you are game I got a place on the couch I can save for ya.
