Good afternoon from California! Yes this one is a pretty big deal for me and really for everyone on The NHL Arena and the blog as well. William and Evan started this blog on January 15th, 2007 with an eye toward presenting the NHL in different ways with many opinionated views. From the humble beginnings of LS' first post and my three part series on the Devils franchise....this blog has really grown. We have seen our share of bloggers come and go...but with a core that is left and weekly columns that test the limits of consciousness....The NHL Arena Program goes forward.
Hockey Around The Horn will have its tenth episode in July....amazing for a concept that really just started as a vice of frustration for me. The NHL Arena Podcast is in development and will start at the end of September. This is going to be quite different....brace for it!! The blog itself will undergo some subtle changes...from many guest contributors to of course more interviews. This time I swear I won't drink so much...honest! I have a lineup in the works...and for awhile there may not be many interviews but there will surely be a ton of hockey talk!
There are so many people to thank in reaching this milestone. Without LS and Evan (wherever you are)...this blog does not exist. LS (The Commish) still has a heavy hand in this operation and it is much appreciated. Him and Zita do so much for this little old blog. Thanks to you two, this place has reached heights I had no idea could happen so fast.
I wanted to thank all the past and present bloggers...Bill, Ed, Sarah, Erin, Andrew (if I forgot your name, forgive me), E, Recchi ModernOutlaw, KP, Saga, Slapstick, John, Danada, Rick, Brad, Bob, William, and Phanatic (who is working on the epic History of Philadelphia Hockey). Without the bloggers, I wouldn't really have a point in making this the best it can be.
Most importantly, thank you to all the readers. Without you, there really is no blog at all. The feedback is so essential to the growth of this blog and we have tried to listen the best we can. We are a little nuts here so bear with us naturally! Surely this blog has taken its lumps....what blog hasn't really? However, we have come back swinging and I'd like to think we have contributed something worthwhile to the hockey landscape.
So raise a drink up to The NHL Arena Program....a 1000 posts strong and growing.....CHEERS!!!
