Quick, simple, and to the point...the column returns from a few weeks off. So this week we are going to poke a bit of fun at our expense and well one of my favorite bloggers on The Program. I present you this week's question....Where in the world is Danada?
Danada, for those of you who don't know him, is Dan (our Ottawa GM). He also does considerable double and triple duty on The NHL Arena and here on the blog. The man works hard definitely and it is much appreciated. But who would have thought the Ottawa Senators would be still trying to clinch a playoff spot on March 29th??? I surely wouldn't have.
As of right now in the middle stages of the third period...the Sens are down 3-0 to the Bruins. If they lose, and Washington wins tonight..that would give Ottawa only a four point cushion from the bubble. I am not saying this will happen for sure but it certainly could. Ottawa is in a very precarious position and playing with fire especially with some of its efforts lately. Nothing really has stopped this fall from the top of the conference...only thing that can is the end of the season and a win.
SO where is he? Probably rock climbing or wedding plans or something else. I am sure the temperature is rising especially when he sees the score. Hey, I have been there and damn it sucks to watch your team play like this. It is the most painful thing to see and there is really not much you can do about it as a fan but to talk about it. Really it is a much better alternative than keeping it in.
I came up with other scenarios as to where Dan could be. We will spare the salmon colored pink font purely for aesthetic value here. He could be praying to his statue of Daniel Alfredsson. Legend has it that is what gives Danada is freakish rock climbing ability...the red hair. He could really also be with his fiancee for all anyone knows. Hell he could be planning for tee times in late April....one thing is for sure he is not online or at least he hasn't show himself just yet.
So where is Danada? Does anyone know? Hey big man, we are looking for you. It is okay that Ottawa may just be the 2000-2001 Rangers. If you find him...call The NHL Arena...operators will be standing by.
