Down the home stretch we come....only to come down to a 16 team race for the Stanley Cup. But with so many battles within battles for seeds...it makes you wonder who is going to play who. No one may really know until the end of day 10 the way this crazy thing is going.
Speaking of the craziest fantasy hockey league I can remember....the dear old LSHL is still bunched up tighter than New York City gridlock on Black Friday. Just 2 points are separating Patty from Damned and The Hitman. This kind of musical chairs hasn't been seen by me in a point league in nearly 5 years. I have seen head to head title tilts go like this but points leagues usually get a little bit of separation at some point. This one keeps getting closer sort of like the Eastern Conference.
The Stevens League went more to form with the top 2 teams (Mayhem and BBB) facing off in the final. Though it is early....BBB has taken a rather interesting 7-0 lead into the first weekend. Mayhem could be in some trouble with both Leclaire and Hasek out but BBB's goaltending has not been much better...just good enough to have the edge right now. Only penalty minutes is a category that could be considered not too close right now...but all it takes is one penalty filled night and bam...even that gets tight. I expect Mayhem to bounce back and quickly.
Lastly on to my random question of the day. Does a hockey fan gets less drunk when their team is winning or losing? I have always wondered this. Well enjoy a great night of hockey with 8 more games....and as always The NHL Arena will be covering them.
