Time for another edition of the Hockey Top 5. Now tonight's Top 5....will be quite simple and easy. This is sort of like making Baked Mac And Cheese! I have to say over the past 4 months, I have been able to interview some great hockey personalities and so much more. So without further adieu....here are my top 5 podcast moments.
5th: The Sam Rosen Rant
Chris goes off for 4-5 minutes about Sam Rosen and how he has pissed off me in ways that can be imagined or comprehensible. I do not know how many bombs I tossed or grenades that blew up in the process of this rant but legend has it that by the end my veins were bulging like some bodybuilder. That was a bit scary but all in all one of the funniest yet true moments of the podcast.
4th: Rick Takes On San Jose
I still remember the show Rick took on every San Jose fan. It was also done very respectfully but still animated to the nth degree! I particular remember the battle between Desiree and Rick that lasted 10 minutes into the archive and though it was loud....the points came through even more concisely. That is one of the best things about internet radio...the spontaneous outflow of discussion and so much more!
3rd: Rick Has A Quest.
Though it has not happened yet....Rick is determined to get Harold Snepsts on the show. We have truthfully hoped that his mustache will grace our presence. But we can hope eventually it will be reality. Every week you will hear it so Harold if you are listening or reading this blog for that matter.....we would like to have you on someday.
2nd: We Took On Mirtle and Puck Daddy.
Yes that is right...we have interviewed some of the best of the best but these two stuck out probably the most. Both had some very differing opinions on things but in the end their passion for hockey ruled the night. What I enjoyed most was that James Mirtle does not have a favorite hockey team and that Puck Daddy is one of the most diehard Devils fans you never quite knew about (most do but not as many as you think). Definitely great moments for the show no question.
1st: Interviewing An NHL Owner!
How often can you say that you got to actually do something you never dreamed of doing? Rick and I got a rare chance to interview Ted Leonsis, owner of the Washington Capitals. For a solid half hour, we got to touch so many of the things thought never possible for two crazy guys. Ted was a great sport about the whole thing and so was his assistant, Ann Nordeen, who put up with all our questions. This was a true pleasure and I am grateful that Ted answered everything we asked. It is still the pinnacle moment for our podcast.
In less than 2 hours...the podcast begins.....we'd love it if you could just peek in or better yet...call on in at 347-826-7358. As always thanks for reading and enjoy!
