Hockey Top 5.....

BallHype: hype it up!

Good evening everyone and welcome to another edition of the Hockey Top 5. Tonight we take a look at what I listen to at night on my ITunes or live as I am trying to find new ways to hopefully get that new nugget of hockey information that I have been craving. So I am going to try and list these and do not get offended if yours is not listed here as I probably listen to it as well. No worries!!!

1. Puck Podcast -- Saturdays Usually

Doug Stolhand and Eddie Garcia bring you a polished show that you would never quite know is polished...period! Their enthusiasm for the game of hockey is what carries this podcast. The show is aptly broken down into three periods. First is usually news of the week. Second is an interview most of the time. Third is their power plays and whatever odds and ends they can dish out plus feedback from listeners. I do wonder what they are thinking about this rain in Southern California. I can only imagine their commentary.

2. The LCS Radio Show -- Wednesday Nights 9pm ET

The boys from LCS bring a unique mix of wit, banter, and well downright debaucherie in this decadent show that appears on Blog Talk Radio Wednesday Nights right before well....mine. For two hours of fun and craziness, combined with guys that know their stuff and can bring in guys like Theo Fleury and Sean Leahy.....then you know you have tuned to the right place folks. I know it has been a good show from them when I have learned tons and nearly spit out my beer in laughter!!!!

3. Illegal Curve Podcast -- Usually Sundays

Richard and the boys always bring something new and exciting to their podcast. Their list of interviews is solid and their banter borders on great debate that would rival and beat most election debates. I just enjoy listening to the show....it is like a fine wine that keeps getting better week by week. It also does not hurt that the folks make excellent guests as well on other podcasts. They blend in very well to anything they do. This is an up and coming podcast that deserves more praise than it actually gets. There you go!!!

4. Inside Hockey -- Saturdays mostly

James and Todd have been a staple for as long as I remember and part of the reason why I can do a two hour show goes to these guys. Though they have gone to satellite radio....I do love the locations that they wind up in to do their shows. One week Montreal...the next week Prague...you never quite know where these guys will end up but one thing is for sure....they always bring top-notch entertainment and knowledge and this fan certainly appreciates it very much.

5. Fantasy Hockey Facts -- Fridays pretty much!

Black Moses lives!!! That is right Darryl Houston Smith a fantasy expert bar none in hockey and more brings you 60 solid minutes every Friday of impeccable fantasy knowledge in hockey. His co-host Gary also a Bruins season ticket holder plays kind of straight-man to Darryl but the bottom line is if you want to compete in your league and maybe win it...this is the man to turn to! Anytime I talk to Darryl, I get the feeling of somehow learning something without even speaking at times. That folks takes some serious talent. He is not only accredited in fantasy circles but have had conference call interviews with some of the great nhl players of today and yesterday and more. First class all the way!!!

Personally I enjoy any and all hockey podcasts so if you have one you think I should listen to....just leave one at the comments. You never know when I will listen.

Though technically not a podcast anymore...these guys still release their show like a podcast via the mp3 route.
