Well what do you know....it is Friday again.....already!!! Time for another Your Slot Here! This week we take a rare look at well a blog that recently got a significant face-lift. Yes that is this one. Let's face it...we needed a change. Even I knew that. So let's get into what we did a bit here....then we'll have some good hockey fun.
First off, I want to officially welcome everyone to the new site. Now at the very top is our crawling blog ticker. Someone remind me to update that today. See some of the toys are so new that I have barely had time to look at them out of the wrapper. Obviously I want to thank Brad Stewart of Fanhuddle.com for the redesign. There will also occasionally still be links to some of the more important stories on the ticker so you can get that much more information.
Now the archives come in their own collapsible setup meaning you can break our posts down by day, month, and year. If you want to just take a look at what happened Feb 11th...you can do so. If you want to take a look at something that occurred in 2007.....you can do that too. Our goal was to add a little flexibility to the site while keeping a nice design in working order.
Did I mention we also have our own links page at last? Finally 345,000 links will not take up the right side of the blog. The page will be updated periodically so no worries if your link is not on there. As always you can email me if that's the case. For our advertisers, the old link will still work and direct you to the new one so the traffic can just flow on in. It would be like the service road that funnels onto the freeway.
We also have a nice logo and background for the site. There is still something cool about icicles on a day when its below zero outside...I do not know why. Also the about link will explain some things a little more as to how we got to this point. I always wanted one of those and now I have it. That is thanks to the readers and well Brad too. We also have nice links to our facebook and podcast pages as well for easy surfing. I know all too well how much a pain in the neck the internet can be at times.
So hopefully now that things are mostly situated, we can officially say hey we are ready and raring to go for the push into the playoffs and beyond. I am sure there is still a bug or two hanging around the site itself. Always is when you do something like this. So if you find something, feel free to contact me anytime. And thanks again for checking out The Program....believe me all of us on here appreciate it!
