Alright....send in the turkeys and there is much gobbling!!! Without much fanfare...these three players this week get our much deserved turkeys of the week. My god....some of them just begged for it!!
Roberto Luongo (G) -- Vancouver Canucks
This may not be fair but it is warranted. 0-2-2 with 15 GA in his first four games back. No wonder why there is a little bit of panic in Vancouver and it is making even Devils fans a little antsy when Martin Brodeur comes back in March. At least Luongo is not overplaying pucks as badly as he was but he was Vancouver's worst Penalty Killer last night against Nashville. Giving up 4 goals at home to a team starving for goals is a bad sign and a major red alert for fantasy owners.
Henrik Zetterberg (F) -- Detroit Red Wings
Rare I know but a turkey! Four points and only one goal in his last six games is not exactly good for a guy getting a 12 year deal this week. Sometimes yes the point well runs dry but it is unusual to see Zetts' +/- down at a +11. It is a bit low to say the least. A -5 in his last 6 games makes you wonder if the great two-way forward is a bit hurt perhaps. It will be interesting to see what he does in the next few weeks.
Toronto Maple Leafs As A Whole
This is a seldomly used award but needed! When Minnesota trounced Toronto 6-1...they left their #1 goalie prospect Justin Pogge in there for all 6 goals. I have praised Ron Wilson when he has done good but in this case...leaving a guy in there to take a shelling and then sending him back down to the Marlies is just out of bounds! All the kid is going to learn is that losing and getting pounded because your team is inconsistent and at times downright awful is okay. NO BUENO!!!!
