Two Goals in 20 Seconds Propel CSKA Into Second Round of KHL’s Gagarin Cup
CSKA Moscow defeated Lada Togliatti 3-1, today to capture their opening round series of the KHL’s Gagarin Gup, three-games-to-two, and advance to the second round.
Denis Kulyash put the Army team on top 1-0, in the 18th minute of the match. Lada’s Eugene Ketov scored the equalizer in the 31st minute to tie the score 1-1. In the final minute of the second period CSKA’s Oleg Saprykin gave the advantage back to the team from Moscow. Just 20 seconds later, CSKA’s Anton Booth tallied another score to open up a two goal advantage from which Lada couldn’t rebound.
