Here are my WHL Playoff Predictions

EASTERN CONFERENCE QUARTER FINALS

(1) Calgary x (8) Edmonton or Prince Albert

For the first time since 1989-90, the WHL will have a tiebreaker between the Edmonton Oil Kings and Prince Albert Raiders.

For what it's worth, I'm picking the Raiders to win since they'll be on home ice and the OK Kids are probably demoralized after failing to get a single point against Red Deer in two games to avoid such a tiebreaker.

It doesn't matter who it is, the Hitmen will roll over either team in four straight.

(2) Saskatoon x (7) Lethbridge

There are questions in Lethbridge as star netminder Juha Metsola left Saturday's game on a stretcher. Early word is that it's a neck strain and he's questionable for Game One.

As long as Braden Holtby stands on his head, I think the Blades will pull this one out in 5 Games.

(3) Brandon x (6) Kootenay

The first big upset of the first round will be courtesy the Kootenay Ice. I think they beat the Wheatties in 7 Games

(4) Swift Current x (5) Medicine Hat

A very evenly matched series but I give the edge to Medicine Hat because their barn is one of the hardest to play in, in the WHL. Tigers in 6

WESTERN CONFERENCE QUARTER FINALS

(1) Vancouver x (8) Prince George

Not even close... Giants in 4

(2) Tri-City x (7) Everett

Tri-City will win this series... I mean, this is the same Everett team that just lost 10-0 to Seattle over the weekend. Americans in 5

(3) Kelowna x (6) Kamloops

The Rockets are on a hot streak, having won seven straight and nine of their last ten games. They'll get past the Blazers in 6

(4) Spokane x (5) Seattle

Spokane is coming off a wicked bout of food poisoning that affected 3/4's of their team. That will affect them in the playoffs. Seattle takes the series in 5.
