Your Memorial Cup MVP

With Day Four just completed at the Memorial Cup, the MVP vote is penciled in. The ink hasn’t dried, but Jamie Benn of the Kelowna Rockets is the my vote so far.

In two games, he has five goals and three assists. He had a four goal game tonight against the Drummondville Voltigeurs. The 2007 5th round draft pick of the Dallas Stars should start the year with the Stars in 2009. This guy has demostrated how good he really is this season.

In 56 games this season, he notched 46 goals and 36 assists. In the playoffs, he had 13 goals and 20 assists in 19 games. He also had six points with Team Canada at the World Junior Championships.

Remember a few weeks ago, I talked about the RBC Cup and those players possibly making an impact in the Memorial Cup? Benn was with Victoria Grizzlies when the Stars drafted him. Although he didn’t play in the RBC Cup he came out of “Junior A.”

Now for another Memorial Cup MVP moment, I bring you “The Shift” by Milan Lucic at the 2007 event.
