The Fun Of Today...Not So Fun For Some

Always remember in life that what is fun for some is always not so fun for others. Take the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Think of how much "fun" it is for those covering it like yours truly. Then take a minute and step into Garth Snow's shoes and tell me if he is really enjoying life right now. One wrong pick and they may raid the Islanders draft table.....seriously.

Brian Burke is trying to come up with 356,000 ways to trade up. He may have used more pitches than a vacuum salesman ever could. Depending on who you believe...Burke may be talking to 29 other GM's at this point. He may even try to get Chuck Norris to agree on a deal for his show for all we know. With just several hours till the draft....everything is a bit Helter Skelter. I may like it but believe me organizations do not.

When you go into some of the rumors out there....you quickly understand just how crazy it is. Now the draft floor is not like the stock exchange. It does not quite work that way but believe me, a lot of plans are slowly taking shape at this moment which will lead to tonight's fireworks of course. What is going to happen exactly? Well Jay-Bo seems likely to have his right traded away. That seems to be the only almost given so far.

• The Dallas rumor for the 8th pick has just been shot down by Stars brass.
• Komisarek leaving MTL? Not so fast yet.
• Chris Pronger maybe to Washington for a third time? :P
• Ryan Clowe to Philly...maybe.
• Is Heatley actually going to get traded?
• Kessel and a pick for Kaberle.....
• Kings may keep pick after all.

Believe me there is so much more. The momentum will pick up this evening after dinner and Happy Hour. Well maybe not Happy Hour. Either way we will have more on it as the day turns into night. Our goal is to try and keep everyone informed and wow it is going to be FUN!
