The latest signings from the NHL on Day 2 of the Free Agent Frenzy....periodoic updates as needed. Latest info on the top.
Ryan Clowe resigns with San Jose
4 years, 14 million dollars for the Sharks....not a bad signing but why so damn late? Sorry I had to ask.
Stefan Meyer resigns with Phoenix.
A one year deal that is likely the last signing for the day.
Chad LaRose resigns with Carolina.
A 2 year, 3.4 million dollar deal. I guess he went fishing and found out the offers were not so enticing.
Jordan Leopold signs with Panthers
Leopold signs 1 year deal to stick around in Florida. Many thought he might go elsewhere....but he did not.
Scuderi signs with Kings
Defensive d-man Rob Scuderi has agreed to terms with the LA Kings. Really good pickup for them. Pens wanted to keep him, but didn't have the cap space. Deal might be 4 years for $13.6 mil...
Leafs re-sign Grabovski
RFA Mikhail Grabovski has re-signed in Toronto for 3 years. He's expected to get a lot of playing time this season...
Stars ink D Skrastins
Dallas has signed veteran d-man Karlis Skrastins to a 2-year, $2.75 million deal. They needed a d-man this summer, but thought they'd shoot higher (Beauchemin, Leopold?). Are the done? Not sure.
Flames sign 2 forwards
These moves probably won't have any impact this year, but Calgary has signed Garth Murray & Riley Armstrong.
Francois Beauchemin update
He may be getting serious interest from the Kings, but according to a source, the Ducks are making a last ditch effort to sign him. He's down to 3-5 teams it sounds like.
D Aucoin signs with Coyotes
Ex-Flames defenseman Adrian Aucoin has signed a 1-year deal with the 'Yotes, per TSN. Phoenix needed 1 more d-man to round out their top 6 on the blue line, and the veteran Aucoin fits the bill. He picked up 34 points in Calgary last season... nice under-the-radar move by GM Don Maloney.
Antropov heads to the ATL
Nik Antropov has signed a 4-year, $16 million deal with the Thrashers. Solid pickup by Atlanta... should slide into the top line next to Kovalchuk.
Recchi re-signs with B's
Boston has opted to re-sign vetern Mark Recchi. He scored 10 goals and 16 points in 18 games with the Bruins after the deadline last year.
Saku Koivu not so close to a decision
Koivu is weighing his options....up to 6 teams interested now.
Thrashers re-sign Thorburn
Chris Thorburn has re-signed in Atlanta. Small move, but was expected to happen.
More as they come.......
