The Monday Slushy Water Cooler

Fear the Slushie!!!!

BallHype: hype it up!

The Monday Slushy Water Cooler now comes complete with half frozen splashdown pool. Scary stuff I know. Today's Cooler brought to you by Sam Adams Pale Ale which does have a distinct taste with Garlic Salmon and rice. Interesting indeed! On to the cooler.

Last night on the show we had a surprise of sorts...a player from the ECHL's Pensacola Flyers. Yes the same team owned by former NHL Philadelphia Flyer Tim Kerr. Look for a surprise of sorts around when the season starts. The fun in the impromptu interview really was learning even more about the ECHL and the true love of the game that hockey players have. Our only regret is that the connection dropped midway but like troopers the interview was finished nonetheless. A big cider to you Dan and no not our co-host Dan MacNeal.

Then of course there is Mark Messier. Yes he is now back with the Rangers as a special assistant to the GM. No he does not get Glen Sather coffee or doughnuts from Tim Horton's (yes that is in Penn Station now) but he will hopefully learn something as the Rangers or someone else likely makes him a GM in the next few years. Along with the signing of Vaclav Prospal....things are getting a little interesting in Gotham. Yes the Rangers have about 7 or 8 players left to sign technically. Next up Brad Richards at some point? Just throwing it out there.

In other news (Hat Tip to Puck Daddy) Alex Ovechkin has signed on with Upper Deck. The part that I enjoy about this is simple. Bottom line is though Upper Deck is pricey....they are quality for the most part! Memorabilia enthusiasts are going to have to shell out a little more for AO merchandise but in the long run it may not only be worth it but music to the card industry's ears. Money is something needed in an industry where sales have fallen off sharply.

Last but not least on this brief edition...we leave you with the following video image that may horrify you for life. Not sure where we got this classic from....but yes it is from YouTube and yes you may be traumatized. If you are a Flyers fan...do not show the kiddies....EVER! Thank you and try to enjoy that Monday in the dog days of summer.
