November 11, 1943

Clint Smith scored twice, including the first empty net goal in NHL history, after Bruins' coach Art Ross pulled goalie Bert Gardiner with his team trailing 5-4. Smith made history at 19:12, and gave Chicago a 6-4 win at Boston Garden.
