Dear God The Decade Is Ending...

BallHype: hype it up!

As we come to the close of the decade in a few weeks, you will notice that yes we will be cranking out a little less so we can pull this off. Our goal is by January 8th to have a winner of the 16 hockey moments that changed the landscape of the sport. A few moments may include the Bertuzzi attack on Steve Moore, the day hockey died for the year, maybe even that Cup win for Pittsburgh last year.

The beauty is you get to pick the 16 moments. What we are going to do is ask over the next 10 days is your favorite moments of this decade. Then like a good chef we are going to toss them around and mix the ingredients until we come up with 16 that will battle to the death.

You can email your moments to me if you like or post them on the page. But here is kind of a rough sketch on how this is going to go.

  • Dec. 17th-27th: Getting feedback.
  • Dec. 28th: Determining the 16 moments
  • Dec. 29th-30th: Round 1 polls
  • Dec. 31st- Jan 2nd: Quaterfinals
  • Jan 3rd- Jan 5th: Semifinals
  • Jan 6th - Jan 8th: Finals

Basically we want to get this out by word of mouth or any means necessary. We will heavily promote this throughout our upcoming podcasts as well. I will be revealing my 16 moments in the coming days in no particular order. The couple I listed above are just a small teaser in truth.

So if anyone wants to help...send me an email and let's have some fun with this. Yes the decade is coming to a close...why not celebrate it. Oh and enjoy those nine games tonight on the docket.

Sincerely,

Chris Wassel

Director Of The Program
