Coachspeak!!!

BallHype: hype it up!

To go from AHL assistant to Stanley Cup winning head coach in a year is a pretty cool experience. What a trip. Time to let the interview do all the talking.

Mr. Bylsma speaks to CBC!

I heard a rumor that Coachspeak will keep on going....we may have some exit interview videos and some draft videos in the coming weeks....stay tuned!

Playoff Video Of The Day

BallHype: hype it up!

Early in the morning...let's see what those amazing bright Youtubers came up with in their video collection. Legend has it we had quite a task in narrowing this down to one. Here is the best.

Yes its the CBC montage....

This Day In Playoff History (6/13)

BallHype: hype it up!

So the day after the Stanley Cup gets awarded...I swear I did not have this planned but nonetheless here is the moment from the archives. Video time first!

Red Wings 2002 Final Moments....

June 13, 2002

Brendan Shanahan scored twice as Detroit beat the visiting Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 to win the 2002 Stanley Cup Championship in five games. Scotty Bowman then announced his retirement, after becoming the first coach to win 9 Stanley Cups.

The Day After Skate (6/13)

BallHype: hype it up!

Photobucket
The Morning After:
My 3 stars from last night:
1. Max Talbot
(2 goals)
This guy has been so valuable to this team, and scored the 2 biggest goals of his life last night.
2. Marc-Andre Fleury (23 saves)
The ‘Flower’ survived a flurry from Detroit to cement his status as an elite goalie in this league.
3. Evgeni Malkin (1 assist)
‘Geno’s skate assisted on Talbot’s 1st tally… besides that, he had a really good game.
Unsung hero of the night:
Jordan Staal
… Maybe the unsung hero of their Cup run. He’s been extremely efficient lately. Even though he didn’t show up in the stat column, Staal was excellent on the fore-check. He also stepped up ice-time wise when Crosby suffered his leg injury.
‘RLD Game-Changing Performance’ of the night:
Marc-Andre Fleury
… For the 2nd straight game, Fleury comes up with the game-changing play. His lunging save with a second left saved the game from going to overtime. You could just fore-see Lidstrom scoring on that rebound, and the Wings winning in OT. But Fleury didn’t allow that to happen by making the biggest save of the playoffs!

A Pittsburgh Penguins Video Salute....

BallHype: hype it up!

Yes the Pittsburgh Penguins are the Stanley Cup Champions and well now here are a few videos to salute the boys in black and gold. One has to give this team credit...they were left for dead late in the season....brought in Dan Bylsma and then the rest is history. Evgeni Malkin the Conn Smythe winner and Marc-Andre Fleury made some clutch saves along the way. Then Max Talbot sniper extraordinaire with both goals in Game 7. Hello Ruslan Fedotenko 2004! At any rate, here we go Penguin fans...this one's for you and the Igloo!

Penguin Cup Celebration On The Ice!!!

An appearance from Dr. Pizza....

The awarding of the Cup and a bit more.....

It has been an amazing season and now starting Monday we will go into complete offseason mode!!! Until then, have a great night!!
