BallHype: hype it up!

Thanks to Ryan for this nice little list. Then Satan Chris decided to crash it and add a few wrinkles to the party. Mucho gracias Ryan. Yes my Spanish is that bad.

Yesterday we brought you the Top 5 trade deadline commodities. Today we take a look at the buyers and sellers of this year’s deadline. It looks like it’s a buyer’s market, but there’s not a lot out there. We still have some time before March 3rd, and some current buyers could become sellers.

I do not have Chicago, New Jersey, San Jose, Vancouver, or Washington listed as buyers, but I’m sure they will listen to any trade offers that would improve their Cup chances…

Also, Atlanta won’t necessarily be ‘sellers’, but do have some rentals that contenders will be interested in.

New Jersey Devils will likely look for a depth Winger in the mold of Ray Whitney. It will not be Ilya Kovalchuk as some as gone way off the deep end there. The Devils are also in the market for a depth defenseman as well.

Chicago will be in the market for Kovalchuk....they may not get him but believe me they will be amongst the 5 or 6 best suitors for him after the Olympic Break.

Vancouver and San Jose will be looking for gritty forwards to entertain a long playoff run.

Carey Price and Marty Turco will be traded...mark my words.

Washington will try and get another defenseman and depth goaltender anyway they can!

Atlanta will not sell the farm but Armstrong, Kovalchuk, and maybe 1 or 2 others will have a new address come the first week of March.

More coming tonight as we will go Wedneday and Sunday Trade Deadline crazy until the deadline.
