Well it appears like things are clearing up quite a bit for some and getting ugly for others. Time to see what is going on this week.
We are in finally....not that you were surprised!
First off, please thank James Mirtle for setting the mark here with his point totals on getting into the playoffs. Also do not forget On Goal Analysis for their calls on who is in and who is out. These guys get it right more than anyone out there in the business.
This year we took a long look at current points and just what it is going to take into these crazy dances in both the East and West. Remember the Olympic Break is long over and oh I almost forgot we will have the RLD Playoff Formula to help us along the way.
We are going to keep updating this every Tuesday so you can see how much closer we believe your team is to making the playoffs. Our numbers are pretty much on par with the big boys and I can tell you that more than likely teams like Florida, Atlanta, and Tampa Bay are more than likely out. However, we will explain that a bit later. Now to set the bar for the West and East. West comes first. Keep in mind that last year was 93 points in the East and 91 for the West or a total of 184.

1. Chicago - CLINCHED

Eliminated this week were Anaheim, Minnesota, and Dallas. If they were in the East...oh nevermind you know the drill by now. St, Louis will be eliminated this week by the way, it is just a question of time. Calgary may also be eliminated as well so stay tuned. Now on to the wild and wacky Eastern Conference.

2. Pittsburgh - CLINCHED
3. Buffalo - CLINCHED
4. New Jersey - CLINCHED

The reality is that Ottawa is the next to clinch while Florida and most of the West has been eliminated. The reality is the Rangers and Thrashers are the only bubble teams left in the East while Calgary hangs on by a thread in the West. Even if we revised this to 87 points, it would not matter much honestly.
Who will make it out of the bubble teams? I believe the eight teams that are there now will be there come April 11th. The bubble to me has pretty much burst for them but we will see.. Needless to say, there will be more teams just playing out the string very soon. A special congrats is in order for Buffalo as well. They are in according to our numbers. See you next week.
