It is getting colder out....
A true sign that October is coming and hockey season is approaching us is the chill in the air. Somewhere Alexei Kovalev is even fighting Francois Beauchemin and no that is not an Eklund rumor. Most drafts are finished at this time and fantasy hockey players are getting ready for the start of the season. However, there are a few positional battles that you may want to look at as these could cause the turkeys to go very mad.
Jacob Josefson and Mattias Tedenby do not have roster spots sewn up with the New Jersey Devils. There is a part of me that still wants people to keep an eye on Nick Palmieri who looks stronger at times and could suprise if not this year then next. The two Swedes are on the tops of any Devils prospect chart but have not been very impressive in camp at all. The turkeys are looking heavily down on these two with a very pale shadow of grey.
Another place to look is in Ottawa where no one wants to say it but Alexei Kovalev has just become a sad sack of fantasy wasteland. Some pundits would even say he is better off hurt, than on your fantasy roster. Sure wishing ill on others is probably a no-no but in the fantasy world, different rules can apply. Either way, the turkeys do not want to give him their award for the second year in a row. They are even prepared to give Alexei Kovalev a special category for his own enigmatic nature. Stay tuned on that.
The turkeys are also watching out for positional battles on Long Island, Toronto, Anaheim, Philadelphia, Colorado, Minnesota, and other places. We will keep the masses advised over the weekend and look for the turkeys to make their opinions known on Sunday's show. The world has been warned.
