Time To Hear From The Hockey Fans...

Yes another one is coming....

BallHype: hype it up!

It is time we heard from the fans. What is the worst weather that you traveled in, in order to get to a hockey game? This seems like a simple question and all but the answers may shock you. I am sure fans went nuts Sunday trying to get to the Capitals-Penguins game. With another big storm on the way today and maybe lasting until almost Thursday (Thursday in the Northeast).....hockey fans are a bit apprehensive in what they will do. However most will brave the elements and go (the true hard core hockey fan).

I do not have tickets sadly for tomorrow night's game between New Jersey and Philadelphia. However I did go to a game in 1995 between the two teams that was during a raging snow storm. Only about 2800 attended that night and I think even that number was generous. The Devils went on to beat Ron Hextall in the Flyers in a game more remembered for how you got there and out than the game itself. I assure you it was a pretty good game and the seats were just great.

There were a number of storms out West that would have been fun to try and drive around to get to a hockey game but most of those involved rain sadly. We do not want to trivialize flooding and mudslides and such but this is winter and we want to talk about snow.

So what is your worst winter experience while traveling to a hockey game? Did you make it there and back? I cannot wait to hear the responses for this one.
