Another underdog winner last night with the Panthers taking care of the Jets in Winnipeg last night.

Today is Remembrance Day here in Canada (Veterans Day in the US)… Make sure you take a minute to remember the soldiers that served for us.

Today’s pick below…

Dallas Stars @ Pittsburgh Penguins – STARS TO WIN (+119)

(Note: I’m risking 1 unit to win 1.19 units)

A battle of the East and West’s tops teams at the moment. The Dallas Stars come into tonight’s game with an 11-3 record, good for 1st in the Western Conference. The Penguins are 9-3-3, putting them on top of the Eastern Conference. The Dallas Stars are on their third game of their four game road trip, and they have won four straight coming into tonight, including 5-2 wins over Carolina and Washington to begin the mini road trip. The Stars have enjoyed 2 days off to prepare for the Penguins. Pittsburgh is coming off of a 3 game road trip in which they lost 2 of the 3 games. The Penguins haven’t played at home since October 27th. Take note that the Penguins are 1-4 in their last 5 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days. They are also on 5 days of rest, and are just 1-5 in their last 6 games playing on 3 or more days of rest.

Tonight’s starter for the Stars will be Kari Lehtonen who is 11-1 on the season with a 2.13 GAA and .936 SV%. Every game Lehtonen is in-between the pipes the Stars have a good chance at winning. Take note that Lehtonen is 7-3-2 in his career against Pittsburgh, and he is 5-0 on the road this season. Marc-Andre Fleury should be in net for the Pens, and he is 8-2-1 on the season with a 1.95 GAA and .931 SV%. The Stars are averaging 3.1 goals per game this season, and 4.60 goals per game over their last 5 games. Dating back to last season the Stars are 15-7 in their last 22 vs Eastern Conference opponents, and are 5-2 in their last 7 games as an underdog. The Penguins are just 3-8 in their last 11 home games vs a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. Dallas has been in some high tempo games lately and have been playing great, while the Penguins were on a somewhat long road trip and a layoff at home. This isn’t a good situation for the Penguins to be in playing against the Western Conference’s top team, and I think the Stars can take advantage tonight. The Stars are another very live underdog tonight and we will take them to win.

Good luck everyone as we will have our picks via Twitter tonight.
