Yes we are back with the midweek edition.

This Day In Hockey History (9/8)

Written by Chris Wassel on .

Good morning and welcome to another "This Day".  We are also just a couple weeks away from the return of Videos Before Bedtime.  In the meantime, here is today's moment.

September 08, 1945

Former NHL goalie Rogie Vachon born in Palmarolle, Que. Vachon played in the NHL 1966-67 through 1981-82 with Montreal, Los Angeles, Detroit and Boston.  A happy 65th to the 1968 Vezina winner.

Magazine Spotlight: McKeens' Yearbook 2010-11

Written by Chris Wassel on .

Today we take a look at one of the gold standards in the hockey business, McKeen's Yearbook.  The yearly magazine is an extremely comprehensive guide on who to take and who not to take in fantasy leagues and much more

.

It does look shiny....doesn't it?

This year's edition is even more jammed pack than last year's.  It is a robust 144 pages from cover to cover and also has some nice ads at the end from DobberHockey and OfficePools.  The magazine is worth the money alone JUST for the Top 150 NHL Prospects.  There are not too many debates on this list.  For a list of 150, that is rather impressive.  Gus and the men always know what they are doing and always bring the heat.

There never is a dull moment in this Yearbook from beginning to end.  Take a look at the Under The Radar fantasy team almost right off the drop of the puck.  Without revealing some of the choices, I think most will be quite surprised at some of the leaps and bounds made by the people at McKeen's.

Now what people enjoy most in the Yearbook is the projections.  McKeen's has enough to keep you informed not only for your fantasy drafts but also as a hockey fan, in general.  Truthfully I spent the whole day reading the publication and could not get enough of it.  This is not just blowing smoke here.  The numbers are very easy to digest and do not become overburdensome.

The key is this.  What will you do with this?  The first step is to shell out the eight dollars and buy this.  The next step is up to you.  If you pony up the dough, it will more than be worth your while.  Thanks to Gus and all the gang over at McKeen's for all they have done.
